Mainstream manufacturers have launched high-end sub-brands such as GE Profile and Kenmore Elite. Four brands specialize in built-in refrigerators: Sub-Zero, Viking, GE Monogram, and KitchenAid. Amana, GE and Whirlpool offer built-in-style or cabinet-depth models. Only a handful of companies actually manufacture refrigerators. The same or very similar units may be sold under several brands. LG, a brand new to the U.S. market, offers side-by-side, top-mount and bottom-mount types.
